Professor and Head Information Technology

Since its inception in 2001, the Department of Information Technology at VIT Pune has been committed to providing high-quality education and fostering excellence in the field of Information Technology. Our department offers a comprehensive four-year undergraduate (B.Tech) program with an intake capacity of 360 students. We take pride in our multiple accreditations by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), with our current Tier-I accreditation. Our operations and processes are aligned with ISO 21001:2018 EOMS certification standards, ensuring a consistent and high-quality educational experience.

The department is known for its consistent student achievements, with our students regularly securing top positions in university-level and national competitions. Our strong industry collaborations, along with partnerships with renowned academic institutions and a robust alumni network, facilitate various campus-connect programs, industry-sponsored labs, and the design and implementation of industry-relevant courses. This integrated approach has resulted in excellent placement records, with over 90% of our students’ securing internships and job placements this year.

We actively encourage student participation through various technical forums and clubs, which provide opportunities for practical learning, teamwork, and networking. Our students also engage in events such as hackathons, where they have demonstrated remarkable skills, including winning accolades at the Smart India Hackathon and other prestigious competitions.
