Civil Engineering Department is the supporting department in Vishwakarma Institute of Technology. Interdisciplinary subjects like Basic Civil Engineering for the 1^st term of F.E., Engineering Mechanics for the 2^nd term of F.E., Fluid Mechanics and Strength of Materials are conducted for S.E. Industrial, Production and Mechanical Engineering courses. It is established in 2005 as an individual department for administrative convenience.

Department of Civil Engineering has been mainly involved in the co-ordination of construction and development, repair/ civil engineering maintenance works in the campus etc. apart from teaching. It looks after the First Year Engineering Admissions and Stage/ Venue Management for various programs and activities in Vishwakarma Institute of Technology Average age of the teaching staff of our department being 29 years, the staff members are very enthusiastic and dynamic towards all the activities the department undertakes.

Today is an era of ‘interdisciplinary approach’ and everybody must have a minimum basic knowledge of all the branches and disciplines. Therefore department is taking more focused and multidimensional efforts to make the ‘foundation’ of the students as strong and as safe as possible!
